Learn how your organisation can take practical steps to support people with disabilities into employment.

9.30am for 10am (ends 12 noon followed by lunch)

From the autumn of 2008, Intowork can only justify its continued support for LEND if its activities align more effectively with the objectives of its ESF project. (For more information see the "LEND in transition" article in the News Section.)

In practical terms, LEND members will need to move from being recipients of training and information services, to becoming more actively involved in providing practical workplace based opportunities for people with disabilities on their route to employment.

We would like to invite LEND members to a Positive Partnerships event on 2nd October to look at ways in which members can get involved in the approach outlined above.

The event will include input from both employers and employment support professionals twho will be able to give an insight into the sort of assistance their clients might find usual. It’s not just about providing jobs as there are many positive forms of assistance employers can offer - through the provision of work-trials, work experience, recruitment and presentation advice etc. The event on the 2nd will provide an opportunity to explore and discuss how this new approach can work in practice.
